1999 graduated from SUPU Art Faculty (painting)
Since 1999 he participates in the Art Expo regularly - in Odessa, other cities of Ukraine, including all-Ukrainian Expo.
Because of significant achievements in professional painting he became a member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists on recommendation by the Folk Artist of Ukraine, Albin V. Gavzinsky.
Volodimir Babienko has had several expositions and his artworks are kept in the private collections of

His high art activity allows him to organize and become head of the art group "Southern Ukraine" which strives to preserve national traditions of Ukrainian art.
He has authored several journal articles dedicated to the professional issues of art-making and Ukrainian culture.

Projects
1) The project Southern Ukraine
This project is dedicated to the development of the traditions of Southern Ukrainian School of painting.
Five young artists will participate in the creation of art-studio where all interesting artists can meet and discuss the issues of art-making, develop their skills of painting, improve understanding of traditional and modern art.
This project is scheduled for 12 weeks; the date of beginning will be determined later - dependent on the availability of funds. The project sustainability will be maintained by producing and selling new artworks made in the traditions of southern-Ukrainian style. The person or agency provided donation for project development can purchase these artworks for very low price. The expenditures will not include any fees or incentives for participants - they will all take part as volunteers.
The budget of project is 3,525 euro which will cover
- Lease of art studio - 150 m2 for 3 months
- Tools & materials
- Advertising TV program about the project
- Publications in the newspapers and journals
- Expositions in the art-galleries of Odessa-city
- Developing web-site, support and hosting
2) The project: Art-info
The aim: to inform the community, art-dealers and collectors about the achievements of artists of the Southern Ukraine.
We need funding for developing and printing catalog of artworks of young artists of the Southern Ukraine. The circulation of the catalog will be 1000 pieces and each book will have 66 coloured pages (A4 format). Offset printing will be used for this edition. Most of the printed catalogs will be spread for free in the libraries and art galleries of Ukraine and European countries. The on-line version of the catalog will be placed on the web site of the project "Southern Ukraine".
The expenditures will not include any fees or incentives for participants - they will all take part as volunteers.
The introduction article and explication of the published works will be written free of charge.
The artworks included in the catalog is dependent on the results of competition between pretenders (will be organized during art-expositions).
Independent experts will participate in this process as well as using direct interviewing of the visitors at the art exposition
The budget of project is 7,650 euro to cover
- Printing questionnaires for interviewing
- Printing of 1000 Catalogs, 66 pages each
- Making digital pictures of the selected artworks
- Mailing catalogs to libraries and art-galleries 500 addresses in Ukraine and 300 addresses abroad
3) The project Contremaitre
The aim: to improve skills of young non-professional artists (students of Art Faculty and Art College).
The duration of the project: 5 days
The site: Odessa House of the Artists
Participants: 50 young artists, 2 moderators
The expenditures will not include any fees or incentives for participants - they will all take part as volunteers. Also there will be no payments from students invited for this workshop.
