Education

1991 - 1998 Musical school, piano and composition under Ashot Ghazaryan.
1998 - 2000 Romanos Melikyan Musical collage - piano under Avetiq Pivazyan and composition under Ashot Ghazaryan.
2000 - 2005 Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory - composition under composer prof. Ashot Zohrabyan
2005 passed post graduate course
2006 Participated in the European Composers Congress (Vienna)

Awards and prizes and festivals

2003 Second Prize at the 90th Anniversary of B. Britten Competition for chamber works (in Yerevan) for his Composition for woodwind quintet (2002-03)
2006 Naregatsi Young Composers Award for Postlude in memoriam... for violin and piano (2003-04).

David Balasanyan also writes poems which was published in his book Arahetner (Mitq, 2001)

His works has been performed at different concerts and music festivals not only in his homeland but also in Europe and Asia. David Balasanyan's compositions are published in musical publishings.
