After completing undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, David is now pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of California-Berkeley.

He has studied electronic/computer music at the University of Illinois Experimental Studios and now at CNMAT (Center for New Music and Audio Technologies) with Edmund Campion and David Wessel.

This past season he was invited to the "Voix Nouvelles" festival at Fondation Royaumont, where he worked with composers Brian Ferneyhough, Philippe Leroux and Luca Francesconi. His piece, "sum/former/instance" (for soprano, tenor, baritone, oboe, and horn) was performed by Les Jeunes Solistes, under the direction of Rachid Safir.

David was also a finalist at the 2005 Gaudeamus Music Week, having his piece, "inferno" for female voice, flute and trumpet performed.

Subsequent pieces include … t_ ho_d th_ fu_ure unt__ _he _uture _ade ba_k to th_ spot… for piccolo, violoncello, and piano (additional upright bowed piano), and "recitative" for 2 voices, bassoon, and piano.

He is currently working on material for a group of solo pieces that eventually will lead to a large ensemble work.

David is a member of Poto (www.potoinc.org), an artists group based in California.

He has studied with composers Jason Eckardt, Erik Ulman, Bill Brooks, Erik Lund, Guy Garnett, Stephen Taylor, and Cindy Cox, among others.
